Lets start Desktop (Windows) Test Automation with Viper

Viper virtually allows automating Windows application at ease. Starting Windows application automation is simple with Viper.

Viper is equipped with Win App Driver test automation library provided by Microsoft. It allows you to automate Windows 10 applications.

Please download Win App Driver from -  https://github.com/Microsoft/WinAppDriver/releases

Lets now run our sample test suite which automate Windows 10 calculator.

All your reusable screen objects should be placed in the PageObjects_Windows package.

Next all your Test should be in the Test Package

To inspect and capture you can use the Inspector.exe which comes with Windows SDK.

To add data driven capability you can either use the Excel data reader class or JSON data reader 

Place all the data files in the Data folder.

Viper also supports automation test reporting. You can use Allure reporting or you can create your own extent report with Extent Report.
